Tornado Warning for Union County and Union Parish Through 5:15 PM

Union County, Arkansas and Union Parish, Louisiana — The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Tornado Warning for southeastern Union County in Arkansas and northeastern Union Parish in Louisiana, in effect until 5:15 PM CST Tuesday, November 3.
What is happening:
A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located about 5 miles southwest of Huttig shortly before 4:40 PM, moving east at 20 miles per hour. Radar shows rotation in the storm, and heavy rainfall is hiding the tornado from view, so residents should not wait to see or hear it before taking cover. Local impacts:
Flying debris will be dangerous to anyone caught without shelter. Mobile homes could be damaged or destroyed, and damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles is expected, along with likely tree damage.
What to do:
- Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows.
- If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, get to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
- Take cover now. Do not wait to see or hear the tornado.
