Ashley County, Arkansas — The National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi has issued a Tornado Warning for Ashley County in southeastern Arkansas, in effect until 6:00 PM CST on Tuesday, November 3.

What is happening:

A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near West Crossett, near Huttig, at 4:59 PM CST, moving northeast at 35 miles per hour. Radar showed rotation in the storm. The dangerous storm is expected near Crossett, North Crossett, and West Crossett around 5:05 PM CST, near Hamburg around 5:15 PM CST, and near Old Milo around 5:20 PM CST. Blanchton is also in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm.

Local impacts:

Flying debris will be dangerous to anyone caught without shelter. Mobile homes could be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles is possible, and tree damage is likely.

What to do:

- Take cover now. Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

- Stay away from windows.

- If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

- Stay in shelter until the warning expires or officials say it is safe.
