Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Creek, Okfuskee and Okmulgee Counties Through 11:00 PM

Okmulgee County, Oklahoma —
What is happening:
A line of severe thunderstorms is moving across east-central Oklahoma on Monday night, and the National Weather Service in Tulsa has placed south-central Creek County, southwestern Okmulgee County, and Okfuskee County under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning through 11:00 PM CST. At 10:22 PM, the line stretched from near Prague to near Little and Sasakwa, tracking northeast at about 50 mph.
Local impacts:
The storms are producing wind gusts up to 60 mph along with penny-size hail. Winds that strong can bring down tree limbs and power lines and damage roofs and siding. Communities in or near the path include Okemah, Okfuskee, Boley, Weleetka, Paden, Bearden, Slick, Castle, Clearview, Welty, and Pharoah. A tornado watch also remains in effect for the area until 3:00 AM CST, so conditions can change quickly.
What to do:
- Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
- Stay away from windows and exterior doors.
- Do not drive through flooded roads or around barricades.
- Keep a phone and flashlight handy in case power goes out.
