UPDATE — Monday, November 2, 7:48 PM CT: The National Weather Service in Norman reports the severe thunderstorm line is now along a line from 5 miles west of Velma to 4 miles west of Loco to 10 miles east of Addington, moving east at 35 mph, with 60 mph wind gusts. Communities in the path include Comanche, Velma, and Loco. The warning remains in effect through 8:15 PM CT.

Jefferson County, Oklahoma — The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northern Jefferson County and southern Stephens County in southern Oklahoma, in effect through 8:15 PM CT on Monday, November 2.

What is happening:

At 7:24 PM CT, a line of severe thunderstorms stretched from near Comanche to near Waurika to about 5 miles southeast of Hastings, moving east at 35 mph. The warning covers Waurika, Comanche, Ringling, Velma, Hastings, Loco, Addington, Waurika Lake, Corum, and Cornish. A Tornado Watch remains in effect for the warned area.

Local impacts:

Radar indicates wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail. Hail of that size can damage vehicles, and the winds can damage roofs, siding, and trees.

What to do:

- Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

- Stay away from windows and exterior doors until the storm passes.

- Do not drive through flooded roads or into the path of the storm.
